Koppamurra: Spectacular Potential for Rare Earths in South Australia

Australian Rare Earths (ASX: AR3) has unveiled a spectacular 84% increase in mineral resource estimation and a new exploration target of up to 3.1 billion tonnes for its Koppamurra rare earth elements project in South Australia

The Koppamurra Rare Earth Elements project is an ongoing mining project located in South Australia. The project is owned by Australian Rare Earths (ASX: AR3).

It's important to note that the new assessment of Koppamurra has confirmed the presence of a significant proportion of high-value heavy rare earths, which are favored for use in electric vehicles. The total mineral resource estimate for Koppamurra now stands at 186 million tonnes, with an average total rare earth oxides (TREO) grade of 712 parts per million (ppm). This includes 99 million tonnes in the measured and indicated categories.

Australian Rare Earths' studies have also led to a major increase in the exploration target for Koppamurra, which now ranges from 340 million to 3.1 billion tonnes, with average grades of 510 ppm to 780 ppm total rare earth oxides.

CEO Travis Beinke stated that this represents more than double the upper range of the previous exploration target tonnage. "With each drilling campaign, we have progressively strengthened our confidence in our ability to demonstrate the establishment of a world-scale ionic clay-hosted rare earths province in the heart of a tier-one location," Mr. Beinke said.

"These outstanding results represent a substantial increase in resources and confirm Koppamurra as a new world-scale ionic clay-hosted rare earths province. Additionally, significant potential remains with an updated exploration target range of 340 million to 3.1 billion tonnes, and the resources remain open to the north and south."

Mr. Beinke also mentioned that the company is gaining a better understanding of the geology and rare earth mineralization processes at Koppamurra. "We remain confident in the consistency of mineralization across the project and look forward to resuming drilling next month to test areas with no historical drilling."

"We intend to continue creating value for shareholders by growing and upgrading the inventory while advancing our metallurgical testwork and other development studies in parallel."

Australian Rare Earths has also demonstrated that a gradual and timely rehabilitation can be achieved through its trial mining pit. "All of these factors distinguish Koppamurra as a unique opportunity to establish a new sustainable source of critical heavy rare earths for a clean energy future."

In summary, the results announced by Australian Rare Earths are highly positive and confirm Koppamurra's significant potential as a source of rare earth elements.
